The Eight of Wands shows fast motion and clear flow. Things shift quick and stay direct. This card brings speed, progress, messages, and rising momentum. You see delays fade while energy starts to move with purpose. Many readers view this card as a sign to act soon.

Eight of Wands meaning free tarot lessons, rider waite eight of wands displaying. With my P.E.N.S.I. method it is a lot easier to learn tarot. You learn its Position in a spread, its Fire Element, its Numerology, its Symbolism in motion, and its Intuition. This method keeps card study clear and steady and with P.E.N.S.I. you are making associations rather than endless memorizing.

Eight of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

The Eight of Wands in a spread brings speed. It shows things moving fast. It often marks change you cannot slow. Depending on where in a spread, the nuances and context will change. Past, present or future? Or what is simply on the mind. Once I have covered all the cards, we will dive into spreads.

2nd Layer of Context: Element of Fire

Although this card holds Fire energy, it stays direct and intense. Also, Fire moves quick and creates strong shifts. Then it fuels drive and sparks new action. Next, remember the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson and think passion and career. So passion shows what we love to build or create. Finally, career shows long-term focus, while passion shapes projects we truly want to do.

3rd Layer of Context for Eight of Wands: Numerology of Eight

Remember from the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, eight is like “halfway there” and always implies some struggle. Hard to get halfway there and look how much farther to go. But eight also speaks to some stamina too, In the eight, we start to wonder if should we go a different direction, or if we are going in the right direction. In the eight, we are often waiting for something before we continue.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

The eight wands fly through open sky. They never touch the ground and show clear direction, quick travel, and events in motion. They do look like they are headed somewhere specific though, and will find their target. Their arrival would be the end of their movement, right? So, this card screams a swift conclusion to a matter.

It also speaks to movement, possibly travel, especially through the air. When I notice this pops up with a six of swords, it really speaks to actual travel. Lastly, how about successful spell work manifesting? Oh yeah!

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory about the eight of wands meaningTrust the pull to move. Let the rush guide you. You can act with purpose while things open with ease. I often get psychic information with this card that says “hold on to your butt”, stuff is about to change because this situation is coming to a close. You will be free to act, or are free to act, depending on where in a tarot spread it falls. I often know it comes through an email or a phone call too.

Reversed Meaning

Reversed, the Eight of Wands slows down. Delays appear and plans may stall. Messages may miss or shift. You pause and check your path. You use this time to correct course and clear your space. If find when it comes up reversed, people feel so stuck in a situation that just seems to drag on and on. The real way to correct it is to plan and bust a move.

Sympathetic Decks

I find that almost all the decks I look at, regardless of era seem to show similar imagery. A bunch of wands flying in swift. Typically the skies are clear and the weather looks great and usually the scene in pleasant. I get a kind of “glad” feeling from the image, like being happy about this swift conclusion to whatever matter. Not that I might totally agree with the outcome, but glad to have a conclusion.

Tarot Spell: Eight of Wands

Place the Eight of Wands on your altar, then sit with the card and feel its fast push. Write one clear goal. Burn a small Fire-safe note while holding the card. Move the smoke forward with your hand. This sets the motion and aligns your path. Claim a swift conclusion to the matter.

Tarot Spell: Eight of Wands (Reversed)

Enchant a black chime candle for banishing a block. Place the Eight of Wands reversed before you. Sit still and breathe slow. Write one delay or block. Set the note under the card. Let the card hold the issue while you clear space. Let the candle burn to finish. You flip the Eight upright when you feel flow return and let it remain while the candle finishes.

Final Notes and Conclusion

The Eight of Wands arrives when change moves fast. You decide the aim.

The Seven of Wands shows what it feels like to stand your ground under pressure with style and wit. It speaks to that tense moment when you know you earned your place and someone still tries to push you off it. For this series we walk through my method, P.E.N.S.I. for each pip card.

seven of wands meaning, free tarot lessons. Then we move into reversals, correspondences, and spell work that uses the card on your altar. If you have not, please review the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, it will make learning tarot so much easier.

Seven of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

This card sits in the suit of Wands in the Minor Arcana. It shows stress, defense, and effort that stays active. It points to moments when you are tested on what you worked hard to build. We are not in a spread at the moment, and we’ll cover spreads in future posts,

Past, present or future, this is about overcoming obstacles, in a good way.

2nd Layer of Context: Element is Fire

Fire rules this card, so it burns hot and restless. Remember from the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, fire is always passion or career, often both. It stirs courage, anger, will, and push back. It also shows how passion can feel rough when many demands land at once.

3rd Layer of Context for the Seven of Wands: Numerology of Seven

Remember from P.E.N.S.I. – Seven is like the start of a new path, only you know better what you do and do not want. Seven brings tests, inner work, and soul pressure. It calls up grit, review, and honest self-check. It also asks what you truly stand for when things feel hard.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

In most decks, like the Rider-Waite which we are using for these lessons, a figure stands holding a wand as if in sparring. He is holding off others as if in competition, it is not war. The figure is on the high ground and has the advantage.

The raised wand shows a stand taken. Extra wands below show stress from rivals, gossip, or conflict that refuses to quit.

I look at the symbolism and think to myself this person has to overcome the issues presented by these other people. But also take the high ground, the high road. It speaks to overcoming obstacles with style and wit, using one’s talents in smart and effective ways.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory on Seven of Wands MeaningWhen this card appears in a spread, the first thing that comes to mind is putting one’s skills to the test. It’s like the person has the mad skills, but now the test. And they are confident, just need a little assurance. Trust that you earned this ground. Your skill and history matter so do not shrink. You can stay firm, adjust your stance, and set limits while you hold your place.

Other things come across depending on the querant and what they wish to know. But if you pay attention and work through P.E.N.S.I. as you perform the reading, plenty will come across to you. I like to advise my clients to take the high road, but at the same time, show your skills.

It’s not an ugly situation like the five of wands, but it is tense and has potential for ugly. So, apply that style, wit and humor while you show off those skills. Compete with honor.

Reversed Meaning

In the reverse, this card speaks to anxiety, a lack of confidence and often indecision. Energy scatters and your stand can feel shaky. Doubt creeps in and drama drains strength. You may feel outnumbered, tired, or unsure. It can be wiser to step aside, regroup, or pick a smaller hill.

This is often a good time, I think, to back off and instead of competing, try to work with others. Show them you are trying to understand their position by proactively listening.

Sympathetic Decks

In the era of Rider-Waite, this would likely have been competition in bigger, grandiose projects affluent people would have been involved with. The impact of reputation would have been far reaching. In more modern times, these symbols and meanings can apply to anyone’s career or creative projects.

Tarot Spell: Seven of Wands Reversed

Set the card face down near a blue candle. Sit with both feet flat and breathe until the shoulders drop. Speak where you feel worn out or outnumbered. Picture excess wands falling away until only one stays in your hand. Flip the card upright when calm returns and name one small next step.

Final Note

Pressure shows what matters most. Choose your battles with care but strive to take the high road. Even if others do not.

The Six of Wands carries victory, progress, and earned recognition. First, this card arrives after real struggle and steady effort. Also, it marks the moment when tension breaks and direction becomes clear. And it reminds us that progress matters more than applause.

the six of wands meaningAlso, this post uses my P.E.N.S.I Method. It explores Position, Element, Numerology, Symbolism, and Intuition to shape a full understanding of the Six of Wands. And each section adds structure and guidance for work with this card in readings.

Six of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

We are not concerned with where the Six of Wands lands in a spread yet. First, this layer speaks to how the card behaves when it appears. And the Six of Wands stands at the point when struggle breaks and progress becomes visible. Also, it marks transition from tension into movement. Then, it shows the first breath of relief after pressure. Still, it reflects momentum, not completion.

Also, the position of the Six of Wands in a spread points to earned advancement, past, present or future. First, it appears when effort finally receives acknowledgment. And it signals a shift from conflict into direction. Also, this card often emerges when teamwork or public support matters. Then, it encourages stepping forward with grounded confidence. Still, it warns that the path continues and more work remains.

How do you remember that? Well, don’t memorize, learn to associate instead. If you have not, read the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, it will help you make sense of tarot cards much easier.

2nd Layer of Context: Element is Fire

The Six of Wands belongs to fire. First, fire fuels action and purpose. And fire demands motion and strength. Also, fire drives expression and public presence. Then, fire teaches confidence balanced with discipline. Still, fire burns brightest when guided rather than forced. And this card reflects fire held with control and intent.

Remember fire from P.E.N.S.I.? Passion and career.

3rd Layer of Context for the Six of Wands: Numerology of Six

The number six reflects balance and restored harmony. First, six appears after sorrow, loss, regret or challenges.  Challenges are often hand-in-hand with sorrows, losses and regrets. And it encourages steady rebuilding after strain. Also, it honors teamwork and shared success.

Rember the meaning of six from P.E.N.S.I.?

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

First, the wreath symbolizes victory earned through real work. And the raised wands symbolize support and public witness. Also, the horse symbolizes direction and steady movement. Then, the rider represents confidence placed in purpose rather than ego. Still, the open path symbolizes progress ahead rather than a final destination. And the crowd symbolizes success shared with others.

Okay, so the above is sort of the generic you’re going to get from a guidebook. But let’s look at the image, the art and symbolism with an eager eye. Does it not look like a knight returning from a quest? Look at how he and his horse are dressed. The crowd carrying wands, this is not conflict, nor is it a bunch of bodyguards. They look like they are celebrating his return from a quest.

Guidebooks often speak of the wreath as victory through hard work, but it is more than a wreath. Ever hear the expression, “do not rest on your laurels?” A laurel was a wreath but used as a crown for new Caesars. A big celebration ensued, usually for weeks, but eventually the new Caesar was expected to buckle down and get to work.

So put all the symbols together. This is reward and recognition of hard work or an accomplishment. but the laurels say enjoy the fanfare, but it’s about time to get back in saddle, get back on the quest. Get back to work. Enjoy it, but you do have to get back to it. It is a reminder, you have earned reward, recognition, but you must continue too.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory on learning to read tarot rider waiteThe Six of Wands speaks directly. First, step forward with confidence. And accept recognition without shrinking or swelling. Also, share progress honestly. Then, carry gratitude for those who support your path. Still, remember that leadership demands responsibility. And trust the direction that brought you here.

I already know when I see this card, that the party, the parade will end. One must continue moving on, they have not arrived, even though they deserve their pat on the back, applause and hopefully a raise!

Reversed Meaning

First, the reversed Six of Wands shows delay or stalled progress. And it reflects doubt and frustration. Also, it warns against comparison and impatience. Then, it asks for quiet rebuilding rather than force. Still, reversed energy marks pause rather than collapse. And it invites reflection before advancing again.

Sympathetic Decks

In the rider-waite era, this likely would have spoken more to someone going far away to study and return ready for a career in some field. It may have spoken to exploits and journeys geared for discovery or to acquire something related to business. It would likely not be so glamorous in this day and age, but the same idea.

It could be graduation, finishing an internship or the completion of a big career-related project. A promotion or raise is often an occurrence.

The deck I use currently and professionally the most is the Witches’ Tarot by Ellen Dugan, and it shows a literal knight. So, it is quite similar, but it is much clearer it is a knight.

Correspondences

  • Planet: Jupiter
  • Sign: Leo
  • Element: Fire
  • Number: 6

Tarot Spell: Six of Wands

First, place the Six of Wands upright on your altar or table. And set one candle behind the card. Also, write one sentence naming a recent success. Then, fold the paper and place it beneath the card. Still, speak one clear sentence of gratitude. And breathe three steady breaths to anchor recognition. Finally, carry the Six of Wands card for one day to honor progress.

Tarot Spell: Six of Wands Reversed

First, lay the Six of Wands reversed before you. And place one stone over its center. Also, write a short sentence naming the obstacle. Then, fold the paper away from your body. Still, speak one sentence releasing pressure. And snuff the candle gently. Finally, turn the Six of Wands upright the next morning to welcome renewal.

Final Note

First, this card calls for steady confidence. And it honors progress earned through persistence. Also, it reminds us that success grows from shared effort. Then, step forward with respect and purpose. Still, remember that victory begins the next stage. And allow this card to guide brave movement.

The Five of Wands hits with noise and friction, and conflict waits in each corner. It is easy to learn this card with my P.E.N.S.I Method First, this card brings heat that forces growth through struggle. Next, it pushes you to face truth instead of hiding. Tension rises fast, and it refuses to soften. Still, you learn what you want when everything feels loud.

Five of Wands MeaningThis post uses my P.E.N.S.I Method Position, Element, Numerology, Symbolism, and Intuition to build a full picture of the card, and it gives structure. Next, each layer adds shape, meaning, and guidance, and you can use it right now.

Five of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

We are not concerned with position in a reading just yet. In the future, I’ll be doing lots of spreads. But for now, for a little context, it’s going to be about clashes at work or on creative projects.

This card drops when voices collide, and it demands your full attention. Next, it shows stress, rivalry, and strong wills that clash hard, so courage matters. Then, it asks you to choose action instead of silence, and it reminds you to move. Still, it suggests that chaos can build strength when you stay grounded, and it pushes you to hold steady. Finally, it points to hard talks, group challenges, or inner storms, so presence matters.

How do you remember that? Well, don’t memorize, learn to associate instead. If you have not, read the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, it will help you make sense of tarot cards much easier.

2nd Layer of Context: Element is Fire

In P.E.N.S.I., fire is passion and often career and creative endeavors. It’s all about what we are passionate about. Very simple. Remember, fire maybe destructive, but it is always creating. One thing falls away or is undone, and something new is created that takes its place.

First, the Five of Wands lives in Fire, and it speaks with bold force. Next, this element burns with passion and sharp truth, so it clears confusion. Then, it pushes movement when things feel stuck, and it wakes sleeping power. Still, conflict flares because each person holds strong need, so tension builds. Later, Fire clears the air and forces honesty, and it strips away lies. Finally, it brings heat that shapes strength, not ruin, so power grows.

3rd Layer of Context for Five of Wands: Numerology of Five

Five in P.EN.S.I. is always about sorrow, loss, regret or all three. And this always precedes a better time, and one should have hope of better. First, five marks change and the breaking of old patterns. Next, it pulls you from comfort and shakes loose what no longer fits. Then, it shows a turning point when struggle must lead to motion. Still, it teaches that change feels rough before it feels right. Finally, it calls for courage and clear direction, so you can rise.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

First, the raised wands show challenge and clashing goals. Next, the scattered ground shows weak footing, so balance matters. Then, the open sky shows space to grow. Still, the bodies in motion show skill built through effort, so practice counts. Finally, the bright colors show energy that refuses to dim. This is along the lines of generic descriptions found in guidebooks.

But if we examine the symbols with a lens of “actual life”, that is all true, but I get a lot more out of it. Knowing this is about passion, creative projects, career matters, ask if it looks like people are getting along. I do not think so. It looks like conflict, not war, but conflict.

I see conflict, disagreements, challenges like petty squabbling in the workplace or in a coven or tight social group. There is a real need to put some serious effort into problem solving.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory about five of wands rider waite tarotFirst, listen close because the Five of Wands pushes honesty. Next, step forward instead of stepping aside. Still, speak what burns inside you, and hold your ground without cruelty. Finally, trust your fire, so strength leads you.

When all the factors of P.E.N.S.I. come together, you get the above. But, more specific, I often know there’s a clash of creative ideas, everyone pushing their ideas to the point of bruising other’s egos. I challenge the client I am reading for to take leadership, acknowledge other people’s ideas, give them kudos. Strive to see how all those ideas can work together, the sum of the ideas are greater than the ideas alone.

Reversed Meaning

First, when reversed, tension turns toxic, and peace breaks down. Next, it shows shouting without reason and battles without aim, so you must stop wasting strength. Still, reset the field before blame grows. Finally, step back and choose calm, so truth can breathe. It still warrants taking a leadership role, and a higher road.

Sympathetic Decks

In its era, this would have been about serious business, and grand projects with large scale. But in this day and age it can fit just about any work environment or creative group. This card pairs well with decks that show sharp lines and bold color but whose art includes heat, motion and real bodies.

All versions of the Rider–Waite deck have depictions of five “combatants”.  The deck I use the most these days and professionally, (Ellen Dugan’s Witches’ Tarot) features dragon riders, but again, it’s not war, just competition of egos that is unhealthy for the group.

Correspondences

Tarot Spell: Five of Wands

First, place the Five of Wands card before you, and set a candle just above it to call in fire. Next, stand with your feet firm and hold a wand or branch in your strong hand, so your body feels grounded. Then focus on the card and speak the conflict aloud and let your voice shake loose blocked heat. Strike the ground once and name the result you choose, so the action becomes real.

Finally, let wax fall near the card without touching it, and thank the flame for the strength now set in motion. Think conflict resolution, and a meeting of the minds, an acceptable agreement.

Tarot Spell: Ace of Wands (Reversed)

First, place the Five of Wands card face up beside a bowl of water, so calm surrounds the fire. Next, write each conflict you must end on a small slip of paper, and speak them with steady breath. Then rest your fingers on the card and read the list aloud, so the tension leaves your body.

Fold the paper tight and drop it into the water, and watch the words soften. Finally, tilt the card away from you and walk forward without looking back, so release becomes truth. Use this spell when you seek an end to a conflict you believe will not end but need to walk away from.

Final Note

First, the Five of Wands asks for bold strength. Next, it shows struggle that teaches power through fire. Still, you rise when you move with purpose. Finally, choose battles with care, and step forward with intent.

The Four of Wands shows a moment of joy, stability, and shared support. This card often appears when a foundation is strong enough to celebrate. It marks times when work has paid off and community or home life feels steady and warm. This card’s meaning is derived from my method:  P.E.N.S.I.

Four of WandsThis post uses P.E.N.S.I., meaning Position, Element, Numerology, Symbolism, and Intuition. By exploring each layer, we see how the Four of Wands speaks to grounding joy and simple peace.

If you have not, read the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, it will help you make sense of tarot cards much easier.

Four of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

In a reading, the Four of Wands signals a time of recognition and rest. You reached a milestone that deserves acknowledgment. Also, this card shows that your environment supports your growth. It invites you to trust your stability and enjoy where you stand.

2nd Layer of Context: Element of Fire

This card belongs to Fire. While Fire usually pushes movement, here the flame steadies. The heat turns into hearth warmth. Also, the element reminds you that joy grows when tended. The Fire here invites celebration, not rush. Remember in P.E.N.S.I fire is passion and often involves career, but always passion.

3rd Layer of Context for Four of Wands: Numerology of Four

The number four represents structure, home, foundation, and reliability. Also, it speaks to calm after initial effort. Four asks you to notice what is working. Stability allows creativity and connection to grow further.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

The card’s decorated arch suggests a threshold. It marks the crossing from effort to ease. Also, figures celebrating in the background show shared joy, not solitary gain. Togetherness and belonging are highlighted.  This is the typical blah you will find in many books.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory on Four of Wands MeaningWhen this card appears, notice where your life finally feels lighter. Your spirit may want to breathe and enjoy the present. Also, trust that your joy does not need to be earned twice.

When I put all the above together, I know they are celebrating a big-ticket item, there’s cause for celebration. Could be a wedding, an addition to the family, perhaps a child, paying off a mortgage, buying a new home, or landing that dream job!

Reversed Meaning

Reversed, the Four of Wands suggests hesitation in celebration. Also, you may fear the good moment will not last. Likewise, you may struggle to feel at home or at ease. Therefore, connection needs time and honest presence.

But sometimes, that’s not what I get, I get a “surprise celebration”, so you should still act surprised!

Sympathetic Decks

Likewise, decks with warm colors, village scenes, or festival imagery work well with this card. Also, it resonates with decks that show shared joy, meals, and welcoming spaces. My Witches’ Tarot Deck has four lovely ladies in dresses that correspond to the elements, dancing merrily.

Correspondences

Astrology: Celebration of self within community

Element: Fire

Planet: Venus in Aries

Number: 4

Seasonal Influence: Spring gatherings

Tarot Spell: Four of Wands

Light a small candle and sit in a space that feels safe. Say aloud one thing you are proud of. Then say one thing you welcome into your home or heart. Let the candle burn for a short time while you breathe gently.

Tarot Spell: Four of Wands (Reversed)

Hold a small stone in your hand. Say one place in your life where tension blocks ease. Then breathe slowly and imagine warmth moving into that place. Keep the stone on your altar or desk until the tension softens.

Final Notes and Conclusion

The Four of Wands teaches that peace is part of the journey, not a reward withheld. It invites recognition of small joys and shared comfort. Also, the card encourages trust in the structures you have built. Celebration itself can be healing.

People always ask me how to see auras, as if there’s a magic switch hidden in my third eye. I wish it were that easy. Seeing energy fields or sensing them intuitively is both simple and complex. Some people claim they physically see glowing outlines around others, while others sense them through the mind’s eye. Either way, both methods work beautifully.

Welcome to Part Four of learning to see, feel and read auras. Part One: What is an Aura? Part Two: What Does an Aura Feel Like? Part Three: Feeling Aura Energy.

how to see aurasI find that arguing over which method is correct is an impossible circle. I feel energy, and I see color. Sometimes it appears before my eyes, and other times it forms in my mind. Either way, the information that comes through often shocks clients and patrons at our metaphysical shop. Therefore, I encourage people to explore both approaches and trust whichever feels right.

Skeptics, of course, love to argue. They demand proof, double-blind studies, and scientific validation. Meanwhile, the rest of us are busy actually doing the work. I say let them doubt. It keeps them busy while we learn something useful. Auras reveal truth more honestly than words, and anyone who practices long enough can see that for themselves.

Before you begin, set realistic expectations. Seeing auras takes practice, patience, and curiosity. You will not suddenly start seeing glowing rainbows around your friends tomorrow. However, with dedication, you will begin noticing subtle shifts in light, texture, and feeling. These changes show the layers of energy surrounding living beings. Therefore, relax, stay open, and let perception unfold naturally.

How to See Auras: The Finger Energy Exercise

aura energy finger exerciseLet’s start with the classic finger exercise. Point both index fingers toward each other and gently touch the tips. Then slowly pull them apart while holding your hands over a dark, plain background. If you pay attention, you might notice a faint thread connecting them. Usually, this thread disappears when your fingers are about half an inch apart. That’s normal and expected.

As you repeat the movement, the thread of light will last longer and stretch farther. It looks fragile but feels alive. Energy follows attention, so the more you focus, the stronger it becomes. When you feel comfortable, try all four fingers at once. As your sensitivity grows, the space between your hands may shimmer softly.

If you have a partner, invite them to join you. Watch their fingers as they repeat the same motion. You might see their energy move differently than yours. Sometimes, it flickers; sometimes, it steadies. Either way, it teaches you how personal energy patterns behave. Keep the mood light and fun, because tension blocks perception every single time.

The Shared Aura Experiment

how to see auras round table exerciseNow, let’s involve a group to increase your understanding of how to see auras. Gather two to eight people around a round table covered with dark cloth. Dim the lighting just to slightly soften the atmosphere. Have everyone place their hands palm-down, fingertips pointing toward the person across from them. Then ask everyone to focus gently on the space just a half inch or so above the table.

Soon, you’ll start noticing faint threads of light stretching between fingertips. These tiny lines show how energy travels and connect. They often crisscross into a beautiful, glowing web of movement. Interestingly, you may see longer, brighter connections with people you like and shorter, duller ones with those who irritate you. Therefore, this exercise reveals emotional dynamics as well as spiritual energy.

Energy doesn’t lie. When people are calm, their light blends smoothly. When they are tense, the energy retracts or flickers. It’s fascinating to watch how relationships appear energetically. This experiment also shows how easily we influence each other’s auras. Because of this, it’s an excellent reminder to protect and cleanse your own energy regularly.

The Wall Exercise

how to see auras hand exerciseNow, let’s switch to an individual visual exercise. Find a plain cream-colored or white wall and dim the lights to soften the atmosphere or use a dark wall in regular lighting. Spread your fingers slightly and hold your hand in front of it. Look through your fingers, not at them. Allow your eyes to soften and observe the background rather than your skin.

After a few seconds, you’ll see a faint milky outline around your hand. That is your aura. It may appear transparent at first, almost like fog or heat waves. Don’t worry about color yet. Color appears with time, practice, and familiarity. As your eyes relax, you’ll start noticing texture, brightness, and occasionally subtle color changes.

If you’re frustrated, take a deep breath and try again. You’re retraining your vision, so patience matters. Also, wear comfortable, loose clothing during practice, because tight clothing can disrupt energy flow. For a more natural experience, you can even try practicing skyclad, which means without clothes. Just make sure the blinds are closed, unless you enjoy awkward explanations.

I often examine the energy of my hand at night, lights out, eyes closed. Try waving the palm of your hand in front of your face or holding it in front of your face fingers outspread. Move your hand closer and further and closer again slowly. See it? Wonderful!

How to See Auras in Daily Life

Once you can sense or glimpse energy, try applying your skills in everyday settings. Look at people while waiting in line or sitting in a park. Don’t stare directly at them, because focus narrows perception. Instead, soften your gaze and look slightly past them. Peripheral vision often picks up energetic color and motion far more easily.

In time, you’ll start noticing color flickers, halos, or a gentle light around people. Sometimes, you’ll feel emotional impressions instead of visual cues. Either way, both are valid forms of perception. Crowded places like concerts or malls might feel overwhelming at first. Therefore, start in calmer environments until your sensitivity strengthens. Energy awareness grows best without pressure.

As you develop, you’ll receive information beyond emotion. You may begin sensing facts, patterns, or even health issues. Over years of reading auras for clients, I’ve learned that truth always surfaces through energy. People might hide feelings, but their light gives them away instantly. That honesty is what makes aura reading powerful and rewarding.

Intuitive Versus Physical Sight

Let’s revisit the biggest argument: physical sight versus intuitive sense. I experience both. Sometimes, I see auras physically as color or light. Other times, the images appear inside my mind. Both are real. The difference lies in perception, not validity. Skeptics love to debate, but I prefer results. My readings have proven accurate too many times to dismiss.

When I describe a person’s aura and their emotional state, they often confirm every detail. That validation speaks louder than criticism ever could. Therefore, I ignore debates about “realness” and focus on practice. Whether your perception is visual or intuitive, it connects you with deeper understanding. Don’t overthink the process, because over analysis blocks flow. Instead, stay open and enjoy discovery.

Tips for Clearer Vision

Gregory about how to see aurasBecause practice builds confidence, set aside a few minutes daily. Short, regular sessions work better than occasional long ones. Also, experiment with lighting. Morning or twilight often helps energy stand out clearly. Blink gently to prevent strain and let your focus soften naturally. Furthermore, keep your energy clean through grounding, meditation, or a quick smudge with sage.

Crystals can also assist your practice. Clear quartz amplifies focus, amethyst promotes calm, and selenite clears visual static. Use what resonates with you. Additionally, record your observations in a notebook. Write what you saw, felt, or sensed after each session. Over time, patterns will appear, and your awareness will grow stronger. Documentation makes subtle progress visible.

Ignore the critics entirely. They’ll demand proof until the sun burns out. Meanwhile, you’ll be quietly expanding your perception. Critics often mistake skepticism for intelligence, but intuition has its own form of wisdom. Besides, their energy always looks a little gray around the edges. I’m joking, of course—but not entirely.

Final Thoughts

Seeing auras isn’t about convincing anyone else. It’s about understanding the living energy that connects all things. You learn to read emotion, intent, and truth in ways words never show. Whether you see colors or feel sensations, each perception carries value. Therefore, stay patient and curious, and let your awareness unfold naturally.

With continued practice, aura reading becomes second nature. It deepens empathy and sharpens intuition. Each color tells a story, and each vibration teaches a lesson. Keep experimenting, keep laughing, and remember that energy loves joy. Have fun with these exercises, and I’ll return soon with lessons about aura colors and their meanings. Blessed Be.

The Three of Wands speaks of progress, patience, and steady expansion. It represents the moment after you’ve taken action and now wait for the results to unfold. This card celebrates trust, planning, and vision working together as new paths begin to open.

three of wands

This post uses the P.E.N.S.I. method: Position, Element, Numerology, Symbolism, and Intuition to explore the full meaning of this card.

If you have not, read the first P.E.N.S.I. lesson, because it will help you master tarot much more easily.

Three of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

In a reading, the Three of Wands shows that the first phase of effort is complete. Therefore, you’ve already built your foundation and sent your energy into the world. Moreover, it reminds you that progress continues even when it’s unseen. As a result, this card often marks travel, opportunity, or growth that is already set in motion.

2nd Layer of Context: Element of Fire

Fire fuels the Three of Wands, representing inspiration, drive, and determination. Consequently, the flame here is controlled and purposeful. Instead of chaos, it burns with focus and clear direction. Furthermore, Fire reminds you to keep your vision alive by tending it with confidence and steady will.

3rd Layer of Context for Three of Wands: Numerology of Three

The number three carries the energy of growth, creation, and collaboration. Therefore, it marks the moment when ideas take form and begin to expand. In this card, it reflects momentum built through prior effort. Additionally, three is a social number, highlighting teamwork and the shared benefits of cooperation.

Three  (and applies to all pips) is an initial stage of completion, something has formed and still taking shape. About to take more, further or greater shape. Sometimes it’s cause for celebration (positive meanings) and sometimes cause for sorrow or regrets (negative meanings) depending on the card. Either way, something has formed, something has come together.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

A traveler stands on high ground, overlooking calm waters dotted with ships. As the figure watches them sail, they know the journey has begun. The ships, therefore, represent ventures, intentions, or dreams moving forward across emotional seas. Meanwhile, the wands planted in the ground show stability and direction, while the horizon promises future success.

So far, all these description are what you will find in a tarot book, nothing wrong with that. However, I see it different. First, look at how the figure is dressed. He’s doing alright, career, self-employment, etc. But notice two wands behind him, one wand before him.

It is as if he has created something solid, behind him, but now he looks across the water like a merchant thinking, “I have built business here, how do I strike up business over there”. High up, he has clear view, he is looking for opportunities. You get the sense that a lot of things are in motion. It’s like actively waiting and watching.

He’s thinking expansion and growth.

The future looks bright, and possibly taking on a greater leadership role.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory about the Three of WandsWhen the Three of Wands appears, it encourages you to trust the process you’ve begun. Even though you may not control the timing, you can remain ready and hopeful. Thus, your energy has already moved beyond the starting point. Keep faith that new connections and rewards will soon return to you.

Reversed Meaning

Reversed, the Three of Wands suggests impatience or doubt about progress. Often, you may be clinging to control or narrowing your vision of what’s possible. Therefore, this position invites reflection and trust in the timing of your path. Ultimately, what’s meant for you may need more time or a different route to arrive.

Sympathetic Decks

The Light Seer’s Tarot, Everyday Witch Tarot, and the Wild Unknown Tarot all capture the forward-moving energy of this card beautifully. In the era of the Rider Waite, this would have been an up and coming individual, coming from money, or through relationships close to money, and working their way up the chain to become more.

In today’s decks, the principles still apply, but fit more the average person and their pursuits, perhaps not as grand, but could be!

Correspondences

Astrology: Sun in Aries (yay for me!)
Planet: Sun
Element: Fire
Number: 3

Tarot Spell: Three of Wands

Place the Three of Wands card before you with a small candle beside it. Focus on a project or dream already underway. As the flame burns, say aloud, “Like the figure in the Three of Wands, I watch my vision expand across the horizon. My ships sail with success, and opportunity comes to meet me.” Allow the candle to burn safely for a while, then extinguish it in gratitude.

Tarot Spell: Three of Wands (Reversed)

Set the Three of Wands card upside down before a mirror. Light a candle and say, “I release impatience and trust the rhythm of time. I open new paths where I once saw none.” Gaze softly into the mirror and imagine fog clearing over the sea. See your ships still moving, just slower than before you can see the far shore and anticipated opportunities. When you feel ready, blow out the candle and turn the card upright again to restore flow.

Final Note

The Three of Wands reminds you that progress is not instant but inevitable. Your work has already set events in motion, and patience will reveal what’s next. Keep your focus, stay grounded, and let confidence guide your course forward.

Kitchen Witches: Old Hearth Magic

Before ovens beeped and air fryers ruled the counter, the hearth served as the home’s heart. Every meal started there, and every story unfolded beside it. Consequently, kitchen witches did more than cook. They stirred blessings into their broth and whispered charms into the smoke. Furthermore, they treated the fire itself like family. I find that image grounding, and it inspires practical magic even today.

Kitchen witch hearth magicMoreover, the hearth represented both warmth and protection. It formed a central space where families gathered, children played, and chores became rituals. Therefore, tending to the hearth meant tending to daily life with attention and intention. Similarly, a clean and well-kept hearth indicated safety, stability, and abundance.

Even today, I feel that energy when I light a candle before cooking or imagine the presence of kitchen witches while sprinkling herbs around my kitchen or food. These days, busy as can be, I tend to place the enchanted herbs in clear glass jars, less mess to clean up later.

But in fact, the hearth acted as a magical mirror. It reflected household energy and amplified intention. When a witch spoke blessings over bread or simmering stew, the energy spread to all who lived there. Consequently, the hearth became a sacred tool without needing elaborate spells or tools. Today, we can replicate this magic with intention, simple materials, and respect for our ancestors’ traditions, reminiscent of how kitchen witches worked magic.

You may think you don’t have a hearth – you do. Your stove, your altar, your fireplace. They all work in modern times.

Kitchen Witch: Hearth Folklore

In old European villages, people believed fires had personalities. For example, the Slavs honored the Domovoi, a moody house spirit who protected homes. Similarly, the Celts revered Brigid, goddess of the flame and domestic care. Therefore, neglecting a hearth invited chaos, burnt porridge, and misfortune.

Moreover, early morning rituals often involved lighting the first flame and adding a pinch of salt. In short, the hearth symbolized care, protection, and household energy, just as kitchen witches would appreciate.

Additionally, hearth spirits demanded respect. Families offered small gifts like milk, honey, or bread to keep spirits happy. Consequently, domestic witches learned that intention paired with consistent offerings strengthened protection. Furthermore, these traditions carried lessons in gratitude, mindfulness, and attentiveness.

I leave little ramekin dishes of butter, honey and chocolate out for my resident house fairies, a practice reminiscent of what kitchen witches might have done. Call me crazy, but things don’t go missing, stuff doesn’t break and food doesn’t suddenly spoil.

Modern kitchen witches can follow these principles in their own space and honoring people, spirits, and energies that sustain it. These modern rituals connect us with kitchen witches of old.

Interestingly, different regions emphasized unique rituals. In some parts of Germany, witches threw herbs into fires to purify homes. Similarly, in Scotland, families placed protective charms above the hearth to ward off illness.

These practices may seem quaint, but they illustrate the blend of practicality and magic, akin to the magic of kitchen witches. Therefore, incorporating herbs or charms into modern rituals continues the lineage of old European hearth magic.

Obviously, there’s more hearth folklore than just this. I’ll circle back to write future articles on kitchen witchery. I love cooking and spend a great deal of time in the kitchen; an opportunity to practice a little magic everyday.

The Ritual: Blessing the Modern Hearth

kitchen witches used cauldronsNow, most of us lack smoky stone hearths or giant cauldrons. Nevertheless, the hearth’s spirit remains wherever we cook or gather, invoking the spirit of kitchen witches. Consequently, you can perform a simple ritual on your stove or home altar. You will need a small bowl of salt for purification, a sprig of rosemary or thyme for protection, a candle that feels cozy, and a cup of milk or honey as an offering.

First, clean your space thoroughly, chasing away old energy. some loose sage in a regular cauldron will do. Cauldrons do not have to be huge or highly decorated.

I have several small-to-mid-size cauldrons, simple cast iron for a variety of purposes.

Then, light your candle and recite aloud or in your mind: “I kindle this flame as my foremothers did. May warmth and safety dwell within. Fire that cooks, fire that shields, bless this hearth, its love revealed.” Next, sprinkle salt in a small circle around your stove or altar. Afterward, wave the herb through the candle smoke and place it beside the salt. Finally, offer milk or honey outdoors to thank household spirits, just as kitchen witches might do.

Be Your Own Kitchen Witch

You can expand the ritual with small adaptations. For instance, sprinkle cinnamon to attract prosperity or add bay leaves for protection. Similarly, using a colored candle, like white for purity or red for warmth, enhances intention. Furthermore, reciting a personal blessing before each meal deepens connection. Consequently, even mundane activities like cooking become sacred, reinforcing your energy and focus, an approach reminiscent of how traditional kitchen witches treated their kitchen spaces.

Moreover, involving others amplifies magic. Invite family or roommates to participate, and explain the ritual’s meaning. Consequently, the space becomes co-created, and intentions multiply. Even children can engage by sprinkling herbs or helping light a candle. Therefore, kitchen witchcraft becomes a daily practice that strengthens community, care, and attentiveness, as kitchen witches would advise.

Bringing the Old Ways Forward

modern day kitchen witcheryThis ritual transforms ordinary cooking into sacred practice. For instance, wiping counters becomes cleansing, and lighting candles shifts home energy. Moreover, you do not need a roaring fire to connect with the hearth’s magic.

Instead, intention, gratitude, and occasional humor suffice, echoing the practices of ancient kitchen witches.

Consequently, modern kitchen witches can honor the old ways while blending them seamlessly into contemporary life.

Furthermore, the hearth encourages mindfulness. Preparing meals with attention allows us to pause, reflect, and direct energy purposefully.

Similarly, small gestures like stirring clockwise, blessing bread, or arranging herbs create magical momentum. There are so many ways to make the home magical, so much of it revolves around the hearth and kitchen.

Consequently, everyday tasks become tools for empowerment. Even washing dishes after dinner can carry intention when approached mindfully, inspired by kitchen witches’ practices.

Gregory about kitchen witch and hearth magicPersonally, I love to enchant herbs and spices based on their magical properties. We have to eat, might as well make supper a spell too. I think of healing, protection, luck, blessings – all kinds of things.

Finally, blending old traditions with modern practice reinforces personal connection. You do not need authentic 16th-century tools or ingredients.

Instead, using what is available, like a modern stove or a small home altar, honors the spirit of the ritual, reminiscent of how kitchen witches conducted their craft.

Old Magic, Modern Kitchen Witches

The magic persists because intention drives it, not historical accuracy. Therefore, kitchen witchcraft remains accessible, meaningful, and profoundly effective.

In short, by learning from the old ways, we bring warmth, protection, and blessing into modern homes. We remember ancestors, embrace intention, and transform ordinary spaces into sacred places.

One blog I’ve been enjoying lately is on Modern Hedge Witch. Articles are geared for blending the old ways with modern living.

Whether stirring stew, lighting a candle, or sprinkling herbs, the hearth teaches us that magic lives in the everyday, and it thrives wherever we choose to honor it, much like the kitchen witches of ancient tradition.

The Two of Wands invites you to step beyond your comfort zone and embrace a wider horizon. It marks the moment when vision meets planning, and possibilities unfold. This card encourages foresight, confidence, and taking deliberate action toward your goals. It reminds you that growth comes from daring decisions and conscious direction.

Two of WandsThis post follows the P.E.N.S.I. method, my own creation—Position, Element, Numerology, Symbolism, and Intuition—to explore the deeper meaning of the Two of Wands. Each layer reveals how this card blends vision, courage, and preparation into a complete message for both daily life and spiritual practice.

If you haven’t read it yet, start with my first P.E.N.S.I. lesson,

Two of Wands, 1st Layer of Context: Position

Position: In a reading, the Two of Wands appears when you stand at the threshold of expansion. It signals the need to choose a direction and commit. Whether you face a personal or professional crossroad, the card urges clear planning and thoughtful risk-taking. It’s the moment before action, where dreams take form through intention.

We’re not doing any spreads in these lessons, yet, but we will. But I wanted to say the two of wands often pops up when a person feels their world is too small, or restricted somehow.. They are looking around, feeling like the grass has to be greener somewhere.

I’ll give you a personal example. Though I’ve been witching my whole life, I did not always own a metaphysical shop. I’ve been in banking, behavioral health, video games and an animator back in the 90’s for SEGA. I’ve also been a Realtor and still hold a license, though I’m not active.

So, I wanted to be around more people like me while doing something I love for a living. The two of wands came up frequently in readings whether I read for myself or had another trusted friend read for me. I started manifesting and POOF, Coexist – The Alternative Path was born.

The two of wands came up again in later readings in the months before launching Posh Pagan (Meta), our sister store three doors up for pagan, goth and witchy wear.

That should give you some better context. Career changes are often preceded by the two of wands, sometimes the itch to start a business or spin a side-hustle into one.

2nd Layer of Context: Element is Fire

Element: The Two of Wands belongs to the Fire element, representing energy, ambition, and transformation. Fire fuels confidence and creation, but it also demands focus. This element reminds you that intention without motion fizzles out. Channel passion wisely and act with purpose to shape what’s next. Remember with fire, always think; passions and career.

Career is a bit different than employment; wands vs pentacles. Career is what we want to do, not what we have to do. And usually there’s more creativity involved. With pentacles, it’s more about social, family and money, always money. It doesn’t mean someone doesn’t like or isn’t good at their job.

3rd Layer of Context for Two of Wands: Numerology of Two

Numerology: The number two symbolizes balance, partnership, and dual paths. Here, it reflects decision-making and the harmony between desire and discipline. You’re learning to unite inner drive with external opportunity. This balance ensures that progress comes through alignment rather than impulse.

4th Layer of Context: Symbolism

Symbolism: In many decks, a figure stands between two wands, gazing toward distant lands. The globe or landscape in hand represents vast potential and worldly ambition. The wands create a gateway, suggesting both choice and opportunity. The red robe symbolizes vitality, while the horizon hints at infinite possibilities. Ok, sure. This is more like the generic take you’ll get on this card. Yes, but …

Just my own take, but when I gaze upon the symbolisms, I think “others are going to think you’re crazy, you got the whole world in your hand.” But it’s small, right? And with one wand secured to the inside of wall, it’s like saying, this is where your foundation is, stay, it’s safe. Notice the other wand is held aloft as this person, who happens to be well-dressed, gazes out into the open landscape.

It’s like searching for where to build, wanting to build, but needing to keep one foot in while the other steps out. And yes, look closely at the wand on the right, down low. Hard to spot perhaps, but that wand is bolted/secured to the wall.

Anyhow, that’s what I see in the image, but all of the above I consider to be true and applicable. For someone in this energy or circumstance, I recommend wearing yellow tiger eye. Unleashes your creativity but keeps you grounded so your creativities don’t run away with you.

5th Layer of Context: Intuition

Gregory about two of wands meaningIntuition: Intuitively, the Two of Wands whispers, “Dream bigger.” It asks you to claim your space with certainty and design your future rather than drift into it. Trust your ability to lead your own journey. Depending on who is sitting in front of me, this but also other things come across. Sometimes I know they have the itch to start a business, other times to take a different job, or even change careers.

Reversed Meaning

Reversed Meaning: Reversed, this card warns of hesitation, over-analysis, or fear of the unknown. It may show untapped potential or reluctance to act. Trust that clarity grows through movement, not waiting.

Sympathetic Decks

Sympathetic Decks: The Two of Wands aligns beautifully with visionary or traveler-themed decks, such as the Modern Witch Tarot, Light Seer’s Tarot, and Golden Art Nouveau Tarot. When I say “sympathetic decks” though, I mean that all decks are sympathetic to their time or era, and their authors and creators. My Witches Tarot is very similar in imagery.

Correspondences

Astrology: Mars in Aries – totally me 🙂
Element: Fire
Planet: Mars
Number: 2

Tarot Spell: Two of Wands

Hold the Two of Wands card before a red candle. Visualize the scene on the card as your own doorway to opportunity. Speak your intention clearly: what you’re choosing, what you’re building, and what you’re leaving behind. Let the flame reflect in the card’s image as you declare your decision aloud. Place the card where you plan your goals for seven days to charge it with steady purpose.

Tarot Spell: Two of Wands (Reversed)

Place the Two of Wands card face down between two unlit candles. Write your fears or indecisions on paper, fold it toward you, and rest it beneath the card. Light one candle to represent courage and the other for movement. As the candles burn, turn the card upright, a little here, a little there until fully upright, symbolizing your readiness to step forward. Burn the paper safely when the wax cools.

Final Note

The Two of Wands teaches you that potential is not enough—it must be met with courage. You are the architect of your destiny, ready to turn imagination into motion. Step forward, plan wisely, and let your fire guide the way.

Feeling an aura opens the door to deeper understanding of energy, emotion, and intuition. Consequently, every living being radiates an energy field that shifts with thought and mood. When you learn to sense that field, you begin to perceive life in a new way.

Ultimately, feeling an aura is about awareness, presence, and trusting the subtle communication between your body and another’s.

Welcome to Part Three of learning to see, feel and read auras. Part One: What is an Aura? Part Two: What Does an Aura Feel Like?

Feeling Aura Energy

Enjoy the following simple exercises.

First, choose a time and place where you and a friend won’t be interrupted. Then, create a quiet space free of distraction and noise. Next, silence the phones, dim the lights, and allow yourself to arrive fully. As you settle, set the intention to relax completely.

You are not forcing or performing; instead, you are listening. Finally, focus on sensing energy without strain, like noticing the air shift before rain.

Feeling an Aura: Preparing the Mind and Body

Now, begin to achieve a meditative state and allow your awareness to soften. I mute the phone and put my dogs out unless they’re napping. Then, sit comfortably with your back straight and your feet flat on the floor. Next, close your eyes and take a slow, deep breath to center yourself.

As you exhale, imagine every ounce of tension melting away. Meanwhile, continue breathing slowly, allowing the breath to travel deeper each time.

With each exhale, release stress, worry, and tension completely. Finally, let peace flow gently through your body.

Afterward, to deepen the meditation, focus on your breathing rhythm with steady intention. First, count slowly to four as you inhale, then hold the breath for a count of four.

Next, exhale gently for another count of four to maintain calmness. Then, repeat this process for several cycles to quiet your thoughts. Gradually, notice how calm and light your body begins to feel.

Ultimately, this exercise activates the right hemisphere of your brain, the intuitive and creative side.

I highly recommend learning to meditate and achieve a state of alpha brainwave. That will help you with all psychic exercises.

Sometimes, people see auras spontaneously during creative moments. While painting, writing, or dancing, their energy becomes aligned and open naturally. Consequently, passionate activity awakens the intuitive self without effort.

When that side of the mind activates, perception expands beyond logic. In turn, you might see subtle colors or sense vibrations around others without meaning to. Therefore, this happens because the right brain perceives energy as movement, color, and rhythm.

Feeling the Energy Between Your Hands

Feeling Aura Energy ExercisesWhen you’re ready, gently stretch your body to restore circulation. Next, roll your shoulders, stretch your fingers, and take a moment to re-center. Then, open your eyes slowly and allow natural light to re-enter your awareness. Afterward, sit quietly for a moment before moving.

Notice how still and refreshed you feel. Often, we skip this stage before sleep, and therefore wake up tense and tired despite resting.

Now, begin the first tactile exercise to feel energy directly. Hold your palms facing each other about six inches apart. Then, relax your arms completely and breathe naturally.

Meanwhile, focus softly on the space between your hands and stay relaxed. Gradually, you may begin to feel a tingling or warmth forming.

This sensation represents energy. In martial arts, it’s called chi, the life force that flows through every living thing.

Slowly move your hands closer together, then farther apart. Notice the change in pressure or resistance as your palms shift. When your hands come near, you might feel subtle resistance, almost like two magnets facing each other.

If you hold that position for a while, the sensation may fade. That happens because the aura of each hand merges with the other temporarily.

Now, pull your hands apart again and breathe deeply. You might feel a slight coolness as the auras separate once more. This contrast helps you learn what energy feels like in motion.

With consistent practice, your sensitivity naturally increases. Everyone experiences energy differently. Some sense heat, others coolness, tingling, or gentle pulsing. Therefore, let curiosity guide you, and avoid rushing the experience.

Feeling an Aura: Exploring the Chakras

To deepen your understanding, explore the body’s energy centers, known as chakras. These seven primary chakras align from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each one governs a different aspect of body, mind, and spirit. When balanced, energy flows freely.

However, when blocked, fatigue or emotional imbalance can appear. Feeling these centers teaches you where attention and healing are needed.

The first is the Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine. It governs grounding, stability, and survival instincts. Next is the Sacral Chakra, below the navel, which connects to creativity, pleasure, and emotion

Then comes the Solar Plexus Chakra near the stomach, associated with willpower and confidence. Together, these three create your physical and emotional foundation.

Afterward, focus on the Heart Chakra at the center of the chest. It radiates love, compassion, and forgiveness. Above it lies the Throat Chakra, which governs communication and truth.

Next, the Third Eye Chakra sits between the eyebrows, representing intuition and inner vision. Finally, the Crown Chakra rests at the top of the head, connecting you to higher consciousness and spiritual awareness.

Once you understand their locations, begin feeling an aura of your own chakras with purpose. Place your receptive hand about a foot in front of your heart area.

Then, move your hand slowly closer until you sense a gentle pressure or density. You might feel warmth, pulsing, or an almost solid sensation. That’s your heart chakra’s aura responding to your attention and intention.

Finally, move your hand away again and breathe evenly. Notice the subtle pull or cooling as the sensation fades. This exercise trains your awareness to recognize energy. When you’ve practiced with the heart chakra, explore others one at a time. Stay patient and relaxed as each reveals its unique vibration.

Practicing Feeling an Aura with a Friend

Hopefully, your friend moves at a similar pace, which helps both of you learn about feeling an aura together. Together, you can compare sensations and share notes openly. When you feel confident sensing your own chakras, try feeling another person’s energy field.

Approach respectfully and communicate clearly before beginning. This stage becomes a bridge between sensing and reading energy. As you grow attuned, you’ll notice that each chakra reveals emotional or spiritual information through subtle vibration.

Reading chakras can help you understand where a person’s energy feels strong, blocked, or depleted. For instance, a tight heart chakra might suggest guarded emotions or grief. A dim solar plexus may indicate fatigue or lost confidence. Therefore, recognizing these signals helps guide healing work and personal growth.

You are not diagnosing; instead, you are listening through energy. Awareness alone can begin to shift imbalances.

You can perform these experiments sitting or lying down comfortably. Comfort helps perception and focus. Additionally, auras expand and contract depending on emotion and environment. When you share love or intimacy, your aura often blends with another’s.

That’s why you can feel someone’s presence even before they speak. However, in stressful or crowded places, our auras naturally contract or repel others to maintain balance.

Building Awareness

Gregory of feeling an auraThink of a busy train station or a long line filled with impatience. The tension feels heavy because everyone’s energy fields collide and overlap. Learning to sense this helps you navigate those environments with calm awareness instead of stress.

By staying grounded and centered, you can keep your own aura strong and clear. As a result, you remain balanced no matter what energies surround you.

Now, try the final exercise in this session to sharpen your intuition. Stand on one side of a large room facing a wall. Have your friend start quietly at the opposite side. Ask them to walk slowly toward you. Keep your eyes closed and focus on sensing when they approach. See if you can feel their presence before hearing them. Then, tell them to stop when you sense them near.

Trade roles and repeat the process carefully. Notice how your body reacts, perhaps a subtle tingling, warmth, or instinctive knowing. This experiment teaches energetic awareness beyond sight or sound.

Feeling someone’s aura becomes intuitive the more you practice. Eventually, you’ll detect distance, emotion, or intent simply by tuning into the energy around you.

Next Steps

Each exercise strengthens your intuitive muscles over time. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to distinguish between your own energy and another’s. Trust what you feel, and stay curious. Energy awareness develops through patience, consistency, and gentle attention.

You can’t rush intuition, but you can nurture it through mindful daily practice. Each session adds another layer to your understanding of subtle energy.

In the next article of this aura series, we’ll move from feeling to seeing auras. Once your hands and heart know the sensation, your eyes will begin to recognize the glow that surrounds all living things. Therefore, keep practicing these simple methods daily.

Stay relaxed, grounded, and open to discovery. Energy speaks softly, but once you learn to listen, it never stops speaking.
